SDO PASAY CITY HEEDS THE CALL TO CONTINUE QUALITY EDUCATION AMIDST OF COVID-19 PANDEMIC
Dr. Imelda V. Boquiren

Highlighting the importance to deliver quality education despite the challenges of the “new normal” for the School Year 2020-2021, SDO-Pasay crafted Learning Continuity Plan with the mantra “Kapit Kamay Tuloy ang Edukasyon sa Pasay!”

The Division Learning Continuity Plan (LCP) of SDO Pasay encapsulates the response and need to continue the education of the learners amidst the COVID 19 pandemic.

In her message, Dr. Loreta Torrecampo, Schools Division Superintendent underscored the significance of the Division Learning Continuity Plan as a means to continue the delivery of significant educational services.

“Through this plan, we present our own initiatives as results of contextualization and implementation of DepEd Learning Continuity Plan and as guided by the Regional Operationalization Framework. This also ensures that the anticipated and identified areas wherein some difficulties may be encountered shall be addressed immediately.” she said.

Moreover, she added that the use of significant learning tools allows educators to enrich their method of quality learning in the contemporary time.

The features of the Learning Continuity Plan are incorporating new learning modalities such as flexible learning deliveries: Modular Distance Learning cum online platforms (google, facebook, messenger) and the use of video lessons (for those with digital devices). The readiness of teaching and non-teaching personnel on conducting online activities, producing supplementary materials which are guided by the Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs) are the integral part of its implementation.

SDO-Pasay City assured the stakeholders that the LCP adheres in the policies mandated by the Department of Education (DepEd) and other high agencies/offices.

Hence, SDO-Pasay City is committed “to ensure a conducive learning environment and comply to prescribed health standards while continuously delivers quality educational services in this new normal.”

Meanwhile, the Learning Continuity Plan encompasses priority considerations in its full implementation such as: Teacher Work Schemes, Oplan Balik Eskwela; Enrolment Scheme, School Opening, Module Preparation Framework, Planned Mode Distribution of Modules, Planned Mode Collection of Modules, Adoption of the Messenger Class Platform, Proposed Workplace Adjustment and Work Arrangement Scheme.
